'Almost 5.5 million children are living in homes at risk of overheating'

The BBC reports latest research by the Resolution Foundation think tank and analysis from the English Housing Survey 2022 showing that over half of children in England are living in dangerously hot homes. Over a million of those children are living in London, mostly in social housing.

Love Design Studio Managing Director and Founder of Shade the UK, Andy Love spoke to BBC London and BBC Radio London about the growing 'architectural crisis' of overheating, exploring the measures we can take to protect our children, homes and those most vulnerable from heat risk year round.

We were pleased to see our work with The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) featured, highlighting the development of a user-friendly heat metric to help better understand and manage overheating risk in buildings.
